Experience
I'm Brent, and I love assisting students in the learning. I went to the University of Albany to earn my masters degree in curriculum development and instructional technology. I performed my undergraduate studies at the College of St. Rose, where I earned a bachelor's degree in childhood education. I spent the past three years as a teacher's assistant in special education in an elementary school. I'm now ready to teach in my own classroom, but I love helping students individually in the tutoring environment as well. I decided to become a teacher as a high school student, thanks to the inspiration of a particular instructor that I hope to emulate. I believe every student learns differently, so I identify how my students learn and then teach to them in that way, incorporating my patience as well. I want each student I work with to develop learning skills they need to be independent learners throughout their lives. I can assist students in reading, writing, English, grammar, elementary school math, public speaking, study skills and organization, social studies, Regents prep, history, SSAT prep, ISEE prep, and others. In my free time, I like to play sports, ride my bike, fish, hike, and take road trips.
